Then Peter spoke up, “We have left everything to follow you!” “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and fields - along with persecutions - and in the age to come eternal life.

Today's passage from the Gospel speaks of the great reward for those who have left everything to follow Jesus. The apostles, immediately abandoning their former lives and following the Master, have become for us a model of complete dedication and trust in God. Let us look closer at this message to understand how we can apply it in our lives. Firstly, I would like to highlight an important aspect of this scene: Peter and the other disciples left everything to follow Jesus. The word "everything" means not only material goods but also relationships, security, and future plans. They left their families, professions, and every day, predictable lives. (...)
